Bookish beginnings

Official logo

Are you looking for a blog that’s all about books? A blog that gives enticing book reviews? Diverse book recommendations? A blog that relates to all your fantastical needs that non book lovers might think are crazy? A blog that trolls your favourite authors? A blog that shuns on the cliches and shows you the light of the literary world? Are you looking to read a blog that worships literature?

Well, welcome here, bestie. Hope that wasn’t cringe… *nervous laughter*

This is The Girl Who Cried Poetry Book Blog and I’m Mercy, your new book bestie!

Once upon a time, when I had no idea that algebra was a thing, I picked up a book and fell into the pages. When I came back up, I was disappointed that it wasn’t real life, so I read more books, and dived into more books and since then, I have been reading.

I am a creative writer, poet, avid reader, literary enthusiast, part of the menace that is the Grammar Nazi and a Superstar from Nigeria.

I am a non conforming hoodlum who loves books, feminism, Doja Cat, Smut(this is my turf) and yes, poetry.

My favourite book genres are: Romance, Fantasy and Queer Literature.

My favourite authors are: Eloghosa Osunde—Author of Vagabonds, Tessa Bailey— Author of It Happened One Summer, Casey McQuiston,— Author of Red, White and Royal Blue, Sandra Brown— Author of Bittersweet Rain.

Notice how they’re all women? It’s saying something.

I created this blog to talk about my bookish interests, create contents that all book lovers can relate to and yes, troll dark romance lovers because I can.

This is a ride I hope you’re willing to join in and trust me, you won’t regret.

See you soon with another blog post, munchkin!
