When December arrives with her wintery chill and her holiday cheer, there’s a reminder that the year is ending soon that sits with us still. The end of the year for many of us symbolizes reflection of all the deeds, achievements, our lifestyle, the things that we gained and the things we lost, the new habits and the old and really, it’s such a sweet thing to do and think about.
For book lovers, it’s always about books. From the number of books we read to our reading goals, from how diverse our TBR was to our little it was. It’s the reading slumps and the reading highs. It’s the books that gave us joy and the ones that made us cry. It’s the books that changed our lives and the ones we absolutely wish we didn’t read. It’s the ones that made us cackle and trouble the timeline.
It’s the books on our TBR that we never read and it’s the ones who keep on downloading/buying books even when they have loads back home. It’s the smut that made our legs shake and the ones that made us fall asleep halfway. It’s the bookish arguments we had and the book takes that kept all of us talking and together. It’s the authors who have provided us with something so profound that it has kept us living and reading. It’s them who are the real OGs in my opinion.
And to you, my book lover, it shouldn’t matter if you didn’t read much this year or you weren’t able to beat your reading goals. Do you know what matters? It’s that you read and really, we have to admit that it’s not every time we get into a reading high and that’s okay.
If you aced your reading goals or are on your way to acing them, I am absolutely proud of you for being a bookish star. DM me with your proof. I might just do something sweet for you.
Lastly, to you who is reading this. Thank you for reading this. You absolutely have no idea how it fills me with such a joy I might not be able to put into words. As long as I read, I’m going to make sure there are always blog posts to be put on here and get ready because we are going to be doing the most in the next year.
Since it’s the end of year book wrapped SZN, get ready for Top 5, 10, 20 because I might not have an up to date record of all the books I read from the beginning of the year till now, but it’s not stopping me from doing this.
You can always participate with me as well. I recently made a fun daily challenge for book lovers and I’ll be so pleased if you can answer the questions on it everyday and put it up on your social media. It might be coming late for some of you, but better late than never. Also, do well to share this blog with your friends as well. I’m going to be doing amazing stuff here and I am not stopping anytime soon, so it will be great if we have lots of people who can join in the fun. If you have any ideas and suggestions on how to make this blog more fun, my DM is open. You can text me on Instagram or Facebook.
See you very soon,
Mercy.

(P. S: I haven’t forgotten about part 2).
